FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2015 35 Happy April, readers! Now that we have the roaring success of Friday Night Live (FNL) behind us, the Performing Arts Club has decided to no longer produce any shows like it. Surprised? You should be! April Fool's! Gotcha! We would never do that. With the major successes of Laugh out Loud and Friday Night Live you can expect more performances like these. But we do need your help. Putting on shows like FNL requires a lot of people both on and behind the stage. Please consider volunteering to act, direct, produce, be part of the crew, or simply help write or hold cue cards. Become part of the Performing Arts Community and you won't regret it. Did you know that April is National Humor month? Mid- April is National Volunteer Week. No joshing here… no April fooling you! It's the perfect month and time to sign up to audition for our humorous radio shows. There will be a sign-up sheet in the Lodge across from the front desk. This is your time to shine. Once again, the Performing Arts Club will be having an open casting call/audition for two radio shows to be performed on May 30 at 6 pm. Any questions, contact me at, (951) 992-9156. ~ Teri Meyers-Kelman Performing Arts Club In April, the Book Club will be discussing a national book award finalist and New York Times bestseller, All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. The novel is about a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to survive World War II. Deftly interweaving their lives, Doerr illuminates the ways people try to be good to one another even in the worst of times. The book is described as "magnificent and deeply moving." We hope you will join us for the discussion of this book on Tuesday, April 14 at 9:30 am. Looking ahead, in May we will be reading The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman. For more information about the Book Club, please telephone Doreen Sanders at (951) 769- 1913. ~ Linda Lambeth Book Club Yes, it's that time again! It's time for WFSB Radio to present its next show… but first this! cAstinG cAll/AuDitions: tuesday, April, 21st 6 pm in the lodge movie theater To have a show, we need actors. Or should I say readers — are actors who don't have to memorize lines. We carry our scripts on stage. (Remember this is radio.) If you've seen our shows, you know how much fun we have performing them for you. And maybe you have thought, "I can do that." Well, here's your chance. We are presenting a show of two different episodes on Saturday, May 30 at 6 pm. We are having auditions for several of the characters on Tuesday, April 21 at 6 pm in the Lodge Theater. I encourage everyone who has even thought about being involved in the Radio Show to be there. Of course, there is absolutely no obligation. So give it a shot. "And now, back to our show. When we left the Lone Ranger and Tonto they were riding hard toward town in order to…" Any questions at all, please call Tom Shelley at (951) 849- 4494.
