It was a fun and interesting month with the 8-Ball Club.
During our 8-Ball in-house tournament game one of the
finals; Nick Nicholson versus Ray Windhorn, Nick broke the
rack and ran the balls in sequence to the 8-Ball but missed
the attempt to sink it. Ray then got a turn and nearly ran the
balls himself. Ray had only that single miss when Nick made
a beautiful cross-side bank shot for the win. In the second and
final game, Ray broke the rack but came up short so Nick had
control of the table and ran the balls all the way, sank the 8 ball,
and won the game to become 8-Ball Champion of the Month.
Nine-Ball this month: our team captain, Del Lyles Senior,
ripped through the contenders undefeated into the finals where
he was met by Dewey Allen coming into those finals with one
loss. Del won the coin toss for the break in the first game and he
won the game, thus taking the 9-Ball Monthly Championship.
Way to go Del!
Our team practices together at 7 pm on the first and third
Mondays, every Wednesday and every Friday.
Monthly 8-Ball Club meetings are on the first Wednesday of
the month at 7 pm.
The in-house 8-Ball tournament is on the second Wednesday
at 7 pm.
In-house 9-Ball tournament is on the fourth Wednesday of
the month at 7 pm.
Our "traveling tournaments" are the second and fourth
Monday of the month. The second Monday, we travel to Hemet
Solera and the fourth Monday Solera Hemet comes here. Check
the 8-Ball Club message board in the Billiards Room for any
changes of dates or locations.
