| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | April 2015 | 12 Landscape Committee Normally when I receive a telephone call advising that the World Cup Gate is open I contact Roving Patrol and rarely follow up. The caller is advised that apparently an emergency vehicle has entered Four Seasons property and the gate will automatically close after 15 minutes. But this time Roving contacted me after 30 minutes and said the gate appears to have a malfunction as it was opening and closing at will. Staff tried to contact the gate company, to no avail. Consequently, residents were diverted to the front gate. All of this means is that things are not always routine. Thanks to our team, including Roving Patrol and Lodge staff, residents were safe on that particular night. As for residents concerns, keep calling about the gate, we welcome the calls. Another challenge facing us has to do with the Emergency Access Road (EAR). This strip of road is dedicated to emergency access, i.e. fire trucks, ambulances, police vehicles, and qualified vehicles or staff needed for tasks at Four Seasons and in an emergency. For some reason we are experiencing increased traffic of residents vehicles on the EAR in recent months. We have instructed Roving Patrol to visit the area in a routine manner to help minimize this traffic. Please avoid this stretch of road as it is for official purposes only. The EAR is located on the eastern edge of the Four Seasons property. It is bordered on the north at the intersection of Zaharias and Whitworth Drive, and on the south by a locked gate at World Cup Drive, and runs parallel to the golf course in that area. Thank you for your compliance. Access Control Committee By the time you read this it will be spring. You will see our landscape crew continue with regular mowing and replacing some of our flower beds with new plants. They will also continue with projects that have been held off due to the potential for frost. Hopefully the hot weather will hold off and not have a negative effect on young plants. As you are aware, our weather is unpredictable and a heat wave coupled with drought conditions can quickly turn green plants to brown. Now that the plants, shrubs, and trees are reaching full growth, much of the work done by the landscape crew is more of a maintenance mode. Trimming and pruning requires more time and effort. Please remember, complete landscape request forms should note that growth in the common areas needs attention. Your input helps to evaluate and schedule work to be done.
