Residents are asked to have any items that did not sell back into their homes after the garage sale. Dates and district participation is as follows: May 2: Dists. 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23; May 9: Dists. 2, 3, 5, 7, 16, 17; May 16: Dists. 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 COMMUNITY SHREDDING Fri., May 8, 9 am- 12 pm, Main Clubhouse parking lot. Do you have boxes of paper just lying around taking up space? If so, we have a solution for you. On May 8 there will be a truck shredding papers on site at the Main Clubhouse for only $4 a box (standard bankers box please). Sign-ups at the Recreation desk are encouraged so that you don't have to wait around in line. You can sign up at the Recreation desk. . HEALTH FAIR Thurs., May 14, 9 am-12 pm, Main Clubhouse Ballroom. You're invited to attend our 15th Annual Senior Health Fair. This event is co-sponsored by the Visiting Nurses Association and will feature over 50 exhibits dedicated to senior issues and concerns. Screenings for blood pressure and bone density are just a few of the booths available to visit. FREE to residents. E-WASTE RECYCLING DAY Fri., May 15, 9 am-1 pm, Main Clubhouse parking lot, hosted by the city of Banning. Do you have electronics just sitting around that you want to get rid of but don't know how? Well you're in luck! The best part is there will be no charge to you! So whatever you don't get rid of at your garage sale you can still dispose of without leaving this wonderful community. GOLF COMIC Sat., May 16, doors open at 6 pm, show starts at 7 pm. $10 pp. Join us as we welcome back T.P. Mulrooney, "The Golf Comic" to Sun Lakes. T.P. began his stand up comedy career in the comedy clubs of Washington, D.C. and New York while still a journalism student at the University of Maryland. I t didn't take long before Showtime, HBO, Comedy Central and The Golf Channel showcased his talents. Then, in the late 1980's, a new life experience transformed him and his art — GOLF. T.P. has performed for audiences and charity golf events all over the world. You can pick up your registration forms at the Main Clubhouse Reception Desk. Tickets are $10 each. Limit 4 people per check / 8-10 people per table. FRANKIE VALLI AND THE FOUR SEASONS TRIBUTE Sun., June 6, doors open at 6 pm, show starts at 7 pm. $10 pp. The music of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons comes to life in this re-creation of a Frankie Valli concert experience. December '63 showcases all your favorite songs including the one of a kind classics that have been thrilling audiences for decades and their most popular singles from the musical The Jersey Boys - "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man," and of course, "December '63" (Oh, What a Night)! This note for note re-creation of a Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons concert will have you reaching for the high notes as this band take you on musical journey with stops at every phase of the careers of Frankie and the boys. Tickets go on sale April 1. This will be theater seating and first come first served. Limit 4 people per check. Recreation Director Message As British author B.D. Hawkey once said, "Good manners cost nothing. Bad Manners can cost you your reputation." With that said, remember to treat others with respect and kindness. This can be achieved by opening a door for a fellow resident or not cutting in line for events when others have been waiting patiently. With Sun Lakes being such a tight knit community, keep in mind that everyone interacts with one another on any given day. The way you treat others is the way you will be perceived throughout the community. To ensure your reputation is held in high regards, it's important to treat others the way you would like to be treated. We have to live together, why not get along with one another?
