Sing with us in chorus, small groups, or quartets in Barbershop Harmony. Previous singing experience is desirable but not necessary. Come and listen. Barbershop Chorus April is here and with it the full glory of spring. So if you are able, get outside and enjoy the longer, warmer days before the summer heat rolls around. For those of you who missed our chili cook-off in March, you really missed a lot of fun. The food was excellent. In addition to the chili competition we had a calf roping competition in which the winners took home chocolate cow patties. Everyone was clapping and foot tapping to the music and dancing of a fabulous square dance group. Some of us were even corralled into joining the dance and learned a few new dance steps. Spring is bursting out all over and the cut-off date to sign up for the Spring Fling is Mon., March 30 as announced in the March edition of Lifestyles. For those of you who have signed up please note that the doors will be opening at 5:30 pm and not 5 pm as previously advertised. The meeting is Fri., April 3 at the South Clubhouse. The menu will include baked ham with cherry sauce, turkey breast with gravy, potato au gratin, corn salad and ambrosia salad. Festive spring time cupcakes will be served for dessert. Coffee and water will be provided so please BYOB if you prefer any other liquid refreshments. The cost remains at $13. Entertainment will include the game of Tortoise and the Hare. This game is similar to the horse racing game so be sure to bring some money with you. To cancel reservations or to see if any remaining seating is available please contact Provi Donadio at 845-1601. The May event is "Fiesta Time" and we all love a fiesta. There will be music by Ed Avina and Folkloric dancing by our own Sun Lakes International Dance Group. The meeting will be held on May 1 at the South Clubhouse. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. If you are in a fiesta mood, come dressed for the party. The menu includes chicken enchiladas, chile rellenos, refried beans, rice and salad with a dessert. Coffee and water will be provided so remember BYOB if you want a different liquid refreshment. The cost is $13. The cut-off date for this event is Mon., April 27. To make your reservations, contact Provi Donadio at 845-1601. Checks may be delivered to Provi at 630 Twin Hills Drive. Paisano Club May 3 - 8: Jackson Rancheria hosted by Linda & Dick Spaulding. This is a premier RV Resort located in California's beautiful gold country. There is something for everyone. The park provides shuttle service to the nearby casino. Activities in the area include the historic town of Sutter Creek. Some may also enjoy a tour of Black Chasm Caverns.
