Diane Morgan, an award- winning artist in watercolor and oil (see photo left), will be the demo artist at the General Meeting on Sun., May 17, at 2 pm in the South Clubhouse. Formally trained in oils, Diane now paints in watercolor and enjoys the challenges each medium presents. Her paintings have been featured in nearly every major art magazine. Her subjects are as diverse as vintage autos, still lifes, florals and vignettes from her world travels. Diane teaches classes in both watercolor and oil in Venus Studios in Palm Desert and at the Coachella Valley Art Center in Indio. Her work may be seen at DianeMorganPaints.com. All Sun Lakers and their guests are welcome at the meeting. The winners of the mini-show at the March General Meeting are shown to the right. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners were chosen by all those at the meeting. The Best of Show was chosen by the demo artist at the meeting. The Art League's Annual Pot Luck will be held on Wed., May 13, at 6 pm in the South Clubhouse. All members and their guests are invited. Please bring your own beverage. Connie Zane will be the guest artist in watercolor and collage at the Monday morning classes during May. Her classes will be held on May 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 9 am to 12 noon in the Main Clubhouse Arts & Crafts Room at the Main Clubhouse. Connie says, "I enjoy the challenge and beauty of watercolor, but collage has taken a more predominant role in my art career since there are so many spontaneous and creative things you can do with collage. Collage is a creative and unique expression of whatever moves you." The cost for Connie's four- week class is $40 for members and $45 for non-members.
