So much to do, so much to see, hear, taste and experience. Temecula has their Balloon and Wine Festival and Yucaipa has its Music and Arts festival, both top notch events. This will be the fourth year for the festival in Uptown Yucaipa and it keeps getting better each year. The event kicks off Friday May 1 and continues through Sun., May 3. This year's music lineup will include Terri Nunn and Berlin, A flock of Seagulls, the hot James Wesley and from The Voice - Sarah Darling. Closing the festivities the bluesy rock of Rod Piazza and the Mighty flyers will take the stage on Sunday – you don't want to miss a single act. There will also be various Inland Empire cover bands, band slam and a performance recognizing Cinco de Mayo. Saturday evening boasts the very popular Taste of Our Town with various local restaurants all under one big tent showcasing their best dishes. This is an event you don't want to miss! Pre-sale tickets are available at the chamber and other locations throughout town. There are many kid friendly events at the festival as well with the kid's area and a carnival featuring many exciting rides and a ferris wheel. The chamber has deeply discounted pre-sale carnival tickets available as do several other locations throughout town; the Yucaipa Chamber office, Best Properties, Yucaipa Community or Senior Center and the Yucaipa Kiwanis, Lions or Rotary Club. There will be an art walk, a flower show at the Woman's Club and a Gem and Mineral show, all a must see. The art of VisionQuest will be on display Saturday and Sunday with amazing paintings and pottery. The Gem and Mineral society will display both raw form and cultured gems as well as amazing jewelry pieces. Let's not forget the flower show. Wonderful bouquets and arrangements of plants and flowers will be on display with prizes awarded in the various categories. The festival kicks off of the Certified Farmers Market which will be held every Friday evening from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Each evening features a live band, beer and wine garden, food and merchandise vendors and a special event. The first Friday of the month is kid friendly Community Services night, the third Friday is Antique Row and the fourth Friday is the popular car show. There will be other special events including Jeep night and the city's Emergency Preparedness Expo. The chamber has great, exciting new vendors and farmers so be sure to make this your Friday night out. Please stop by the chamber booth for general information or just to say hi. Looking forward to seeing you there! Contact the chamber office at 909-790-1841 or email at info@yucaipachamber. org. ~ Nancy Kenny 20 OUR YUCAIPA | MAY 2015
