Learning to dance only requires two things: an excellent instructor and a willingness to learn. We provide the first, you provide the second. We all start the same way, knowing little or nothing about dancing, and learn as we go. If we can do it, so can you. Our next big event will be the Summer Fun Dinner Dance – on Saturday, July 25, at 4:30 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. (The May Breeze article had an incorrect date.) We'll have a full dinner, and the popular Skyline Xpress band will entertain us with a wide variety of great music for dancing. Give yourself a mid-summer treat, go on a date, have a fling, and enjoy an evening of fun. Check the poster in the Lodge about mid June for more information. There's already a demand for this event so you'll want to get your tickets early. Well, here's your chance… every Tuesday in June (there are five) I will be holding a very beginners only class from 2:30 to 3 pm. I am requesting that you come a few minutes early so we can start on time. Wear shoes that slide on wood floors and bring water. These sessions are to teach the basic steps and in the process you will learn one to three dances. And men, don't be shy; there currently are five to six men in our regular class, so join them. Our brains work better when they are challenged. Dancing stimulates your muscles, but also your brain has to concentrate on something new and different. It has to work harder. Puzzles or word games are okay, but dancing adds movement to those thought processes, which is exercise. So stop by and watch. You may find you would like to try line dancing. No partner needed. The important part is coming out and having fun. Hope to see you on Tuesdays at our normal beginners 3 pm class and the advanced class at 3:45 pm in the Lodge Ballroom. ~ Martha Franck 32 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2015 Do you enjoy dancing?
