FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2015 47 Pickleball players are busy enjoying the warmer weather. We got our new logo hats and golf shirts. They look fantastic. Thanks again to Howard Levine, Yvette Thomas and Nancy Francine Barnaby for making it possible. We continue to grow in numbers as more residents at Four Seasons discover this wonderful sport. Pickleball and paddle tennis are looking forward to more courts in the future. We had a great time at our in-house tournament in May and Joe Ligori shared some action shots for me to put in the Breeze. Thanks Joe. From the book Fighting Gravity: "We baby boomers are getting older and we don't like it! We are really young people wondering what has happened to us. As one of the largest and most economically influential segments of American society, Boomers are getting older (aging, becoming seasoned) as aging becomes a trend. We, Boomers, were also at the advent of the exercise craze in the 1970s. We turned the fitness community upside down as we flooded the aerobics arena. As we hit our twilight age today, we need to keep fit, but many can't take the punishment of the exercise regiments we used to undertake when we were younger. Because of that, many of us have become sedentary." It is not too late to change this trend. Hurry up! Don't waste another day! Move it or you lose it! Walk-jog-swim-walk in the pool; try yoga-kick boxing-conditioning-pickleball-paddle tennis-tennis at the gym — we have so much to offer here! It is up to you to get rid of (sedentariness). So, start NOW! Pickleball open play time Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday from 8 am to 11 am. Many members are doing long trips over the summer and will have many stories to share on their return. Our 2016 camp-outs are already planned and we would be happy to share that information with you at our September meeting. Our next meeting is Sept. 8 in the Lodge at 6 pm. Join us for a bite to eat at Smitty's before the meeting. Safe and fun travels to our members, we look forward to seeing you all in the fall.
