48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2015
Every year on Memorial Day the West Coast
Thunder, a patriotic motorcycle ride, runs from the
Riverside Harley dealer to the Riverside National
Cemetery and then to Soboba Casino. This year,
three of our own Four Seasons riders, Chuck Price,
and Steve and Marilyn Sarchett, will participate.
Whether you ride a motorcycle or not it's an event to
see. All along the route, which runs through several
Riverside neighborhoods, the streets are lined
with hundreds of spectators holding military and
American flags, waving, and saluting as the bikes
roll by. The entire procession is escorted by police
as military helicopters fly overhead. It makes you
realize that patriotism is alive and well in Southern
California. At the casino, there are several vendors
hawking motorcycle paraphernalia, food and
drink. After thousands of biker pledge allegiance
and sing the national anthem we were entertained
by none other than Big and Rich. In all it was a
great day to see thousands of bikers and spectators
honor our veterans. It makes you feel proud to be
an American. ~ Steve Sarchett
