27 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2015 | From the President – Gerry Edmonds: As I wrote last month, our Golf Club members do two things: play golf and celebrate our rounds. I would like to report that this past month was no exception. On May 26, the Club held our annual Memorial Tournament Barbeque on the Plaza with over 100 members and guests in attendance. Once again, Sue Mushallo and a large number of volunteers rallied to put on a great event. Later that day, Tournament Director Dave Balser announced winners of the tournament. They were Jim Seder as both the D Flight low net and low gross champion, Cecil Frazier the C Flight low net champion and Chaz McManis as the C Flight low gross champion, Kevin Snider the B Flight low net champion and David Cometa as the B Flight low gross champion, and finally, Cliff Post as the A Flight low net and low gross champion. Congratulations to the winners for their outstanding performances over two days. Those in attendance at the barbeque also got to congratulate Blair Becker for a hole-in-one on the difficult par 3 seventh hole on the 26th. From witness accounts, it was a majestic shot in which no one actually saw the ball go in the cup. In truly sporting fashion, Blair bought drinks for members participating in the following Tuesday golf day from the proceeds of the hole-in-one insurance he bought. Thanks Blair. Lastly, Bob Morriss reported that he, Linda and Tom and Helen Johnson participated in the California Senior Olympics in Pasadena at the end of May. He also reported that the ladies received medals for their efforts while the men were shut out. Way to go ladies. I will hoist a pint for your good fortune. From the tournament chair – dave Balser: To play in our Tuesday events, sign up a week in advance at our prior event or contact Dave via email at dbalsertournamentdirector@gmail. com or you can call (760) 436-6139.
