This year's Fourth of July Book Sale was a great success! Many residents were able to get that special book that they have always wanted to read or display in their home. We thank everyone for their support and we hope that you enjoyed eating your patriotic red, white and blue cookie or cupcake. Because of your continued generosity, the sale of our excess books allows us to clear shelf space of older books in order to make room for our newest acquisitions. Among our newest acquisitions are several dozen large print books that include many westerns and mysteries. All of the large- print books are only available in the large print book section of the paperback library in the Main Clubhouse. To locate this section, go to the paperback section of the Main Clubhouse library and then go to the back of the room near the window and to the right of the small desk. These books are located on both sides of the aisle. If you have any suggestions as to what kind of additional books you would like us to buy, please contact Leeann McLaughlin at 909-973-3143. In addition, all of our children's books have been relocated from the cabinet drawers of the North Clubhouse library to the back wall of the paperback library, located in the Main Clubhouse, on the left side of the small desk near the window. The next time your grandchildren visit, borrow one of these books to read stories to them. It is a very rewarding experience. Also, there are a large number of puzzles located in the North Clubhouse library to share with your family and friends. The libraries need volunteers to donate their time to keep our three libraries ready for you. If you would like to become a part of this special volunteer group, please contact Lorene Sowash at 769- 9999 and ask "how can i become a library volunteer?" We hope to see each of you browsing the book shelves at one of the three Sun Lakes Country Club libraries (one located in each of our Clubhouses) throughout the long hot summer! This past January a Bingo Advisory Committee was formed. We invite everyone to come play and have a fun evening. You can buy food and drinks from our restaurant and bar, and bring them to your table to enjoy while you play. Doors open at 4 pm and we begin selling at 4:15 pm. You can reserve your seat, buy your cards and go eat in the restaurant and be ready to play at 6 pm. Our pots have been as high as $450 and as low as $200. We have been very busy since January. We hope you have noticed our banner as you enter and exit our Main Clubhouse. In April we donated $100 to Relay for Life and in June we donated $2,000 to Charity Week. We are proud to be a part of this wonderful community. Come spend a Tuesday evening with us. If you want to join our committee, you can pick up an application at the reception desk in the Main Clubhouse. Info., Anne Magnolia, 845-8700.
