FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2015 43 The Paddle Tennis Club (PTC) had its Mixed Doubles Tournament here at Four Seasons on June 13. Matching teams were formed by a random draw to keep the game fair and on an even field. The play was good and we had a blast! This was followed by a pizza lunch by the pool side. We extend our sincere thanks to the Paddle Tennis Committee members for all their efforts in organizing the event. The three winners, (1st Place - Dan Anguiano; 2nd Place - Gary Campanella; and 3rd Place - Alan Chan,) were recognized and awarded with trophies on the Fourth of July celebration event. Congratulations to all the three. Well deserved! Paddle tennis is a good sport for maintaining health, fitness, strength and agility; a great way to meet people and to spend time with friends. It is a great workout and lots of fun! A positive association has been shown between regular tennis participation and positive health benefits, including improved aerobic fitness, a leaner body, a more favorable lipid profile, improved bone health, and a reduced risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality (source: Br J Sports Med. 2007 Nov.; 41(11): 760–768). For those of you who are still thinking of playing paddle, come down and join the PTC. Our members are friendly, welcoming and willing to share their experiences with you. The PTC open play time is Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays 6 to 9 pm and Friday and Sunday from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.
