11 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | September 2015 | A Drip Irrigation For Plants And Trees An article in the Press-Enterprise (Aug. 1, 2015) by Maureen Gilman discussed the proper use of inline emitter tubing for drip irrigation. As Gilman pointed out, many of us buy drip systems from a local home improvement center without any instructions of how to install them for the best watering procedures. In addition, most stores do not have inline emitter tubing that has pre-inserted emitters inside it so you don't have to install each one". Inline emitter tubing with emitters (about every nine inches) have proven to be the best way to insure that trees and large (two to three feet wide) plants receive the water they need while saving on water use at the same time. This type of irrigation is used by farmers such as the planted field on the north side of Devonshire Avenue between California and Warren Avenues. The field was planted by seed about a month ago and as of today (Aug. 7) the plants are about 12 inches high and very green. The emitter tubing comes with emitters at nine to 12– or more- inches apart. Tree roots spread out to the drip line of the tree (outer edge of the leaves), thus an emitter ring should be in the vicinity of the drip line as well as another one inside the outer circle. Plants that spread outward also need water about two thirds of the way out from the center. Gilman purchased her tubing online from drip-works, a drip irrigation supply company in Mendocino county. Post Orders were developed to train their staff to work according to the specific needs of Four Seasons Hemet. Gate and patrol staff write daily logs and incident reports to make us aware of safety issues in the community. We use that information to evaluate the effectiveness of our access safety and training procedures. Tim Taylor is responsible for our video cameras and associated equipment which provide us with video of access issues and accidents that occur at our gates, on our streets, in our buildings and in our pool area. Ginny Gallagher is responsible for developing reference guides for our residents: when entering visitor and service providers information into our computer system which allows our gate staff to quickly process them when they come to the front gate, and when using the keypad entry system for visitors who come to the front gate after 10 pm. Residents can save hours of staff time which is wasted when these systems are not used. Charlie Harper, our newest member who has 21 years of law enforcement experience, is responsible for dealing with traffic related issues. The Access Control Committee is here to serve you. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 9 am in the Lodge Conference Room. We welcome visitors. We need Volunteers. Please be safe. You can contact the committee if you have questions or suggestion via Email at bobbeechsr@yahoo,com . Financials for July 2015: The total assets balance is $5,071,967.04.
