Our Featured Artist:
Esther Feigenbaum
Esther Feigenbaum's artistic life is a palette
of many colors. The baby grand piano in her
home is a symbol of her love of classical
music, which she studied in her youth.
During her working career as a restaurateur,
teacher and attorney, she found time for oil
painting. Since living in Four Seasons, she
has branched out into charcoal, water colors
and acting.
Her art may be characterized by the
pursuit of perfection. Creating a landscape,
a portrait or a role in a play is a deliberate
thoughtful process. She says, "art provides
the ability to apply your ideas and feelings,
to be in the medium and to be one with the
medium."
Esther's artwork has been on display in
Diamond Valley Arts Council exhibitions
and on the gallery wall in the Lodge. She is
a member of the Four Seasons Players. As
an actor, she enjoys the challenge of getting
into the character and bringing it to life.
In particular, audiences have enjoyed her
comedic ability.
Family, friends and travel are important
parts of Esther's life. While traveling, her
pencils and water colors go with her. What
does the future hold? "I want to devote
more time to art, learning the palette knife,
working at developing and mastering the
mediums of oil and water color—to the
point of allowing the freedom of expression
to blossom. Art lets me reveal who I am. I'm
forever surprised at what appears."
