38 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2015 TOPS Amateur Radio Club During the past month, we have been busy finalizing all plans for the Four Seasons radio room. All equipment has been ordered and received. Most equipment is currently stored, except the radios. Pete Hersey (KJ6NRR) and Alfred Blair (AE6AL) are in the process of programming and testing these radios with the current emergency frequencies. Jim Peterson (K6JWP) has been instrumental in the proposals required for all equipment and following through. Although the placement of antennas and the grounding system have been designed, a contract for installation has not been approved, but is in process. Furniture has been ordered and much of the material needed to operate the Radio Room in emergencies is in place. Congratulations to Fred Weck, one of our IC's (Incident Commander), who passed the test for the amateur radio general class of operation. Also Alfred Blair changed his call letters to AE6AL. One of our initial tests will be to utilize the new, more powerful radios to conduct our FRS (Family Radio Service) net. We will be able to extend our reach so no one will be out of range during an emergency. The next step will be to set up and verify communication with various EOCs (Emergency Operation Centers) in the pass area. Finally, we will operate the radios once every four to six weeks in the SPARC radio net, utilizing Four Seasons as Net control.. Our website is W6FSB.com. Meetings are held in the Ballroom on the last Friday of the month at 10 am. ~ Dick Van Bree, W6RVB, President TOPS (Taking of Pounds Sensibly) is here at Four Seasons to help you reach your weight loss goals. Chile is home to many fascinating varieties of wines that are just now entering the U.S. These wines are painting an entirely new picture of possibilities for Chilean wine. No longer is Chile just a producer of commercial value wine. This "Old Chile" is giving way to the "New Chile" and becoming a varied playground of grape varieties and innovation. Taste d' Vine Wine Club is excited to bring you an evening of Chilean Wines at our October meeting on the third Thursday, Oct. 15 at 6 pm in the Ballroom. Bring an appetizer such as bread or crackers and cheese, your own favorite bottle of wine if you wish, and a glass or two for tasting and sharing. Members $5, guests $10. ~ Gracy Luna Taste d'Vine Honoring All Paths to God Meditation 9:30 am • Sunday Service & Youth Ministry 10 am Rev.
