9 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | November 2015 | Art League We are meeting Thurs., Nov. 19, at 1 pm. We are asking our members to think about which direction they want the Art League to take. Please bring your ideas and suggestions to the meeting for discussion. Lois Stipp will be our demonstrator after the meeting. The gallery wall in the Lodge will feature the paintings of Gerald Gould. In the cabinet are the literary works of authors Jim Hitt, Howard Feigenbaum and Lynne Spreen. Carolyn Lebo has brochures that explain her videos and some printed pieces pertaining to her work. Sharon Weissman, a mixed media artist, includes gourd carvings, jewelry and stained glass. We found a local school, Cawston Elementary, that due to budget cuts could use art supplies for the children in the after-school program. The school is supplying the list of art supply needs and we hope to have a Four Seasons collection to help keep crayons and other art items in the curriculum for the children. A sign-up sheet for volunteers is in the Art Room along with a list of supplies needed. Mary Thomas-Bowe, has stepped up as chair of this project, "Crayons and Crafts for Kids." We will have a collection spot in the arts and craft room for drop-off donations. Mary's number is (951) 537-4178, and her email is mthomas.bowe@gmail.com if you would like to help or have questions. The "Be a Part of Art" canvas should be up in the Lodge hallway soon, so stop by and admire the resident created artwork. If you have any questions about the Four Seasons Art League, please contact Nancy Hawkins, chair at nhawk2blue@aol.com, or Barbara Kenyon, co-chair at (951) 537-8779.
