FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2015 35 Our Bible Studies in the Gospel of Matthew completed on Oct. 20, and on Oct. 27 Jim Seim began a six week series on "Scriptural Guides to a Happy Retirement." PLEASE NOTE: We have returned to Section One of the Lodge Ballroom, and we meet from 7 to 8 pm. Everyone is welcome! Please contact Doc or Letha Sellars at (951) 797-3302 or docletha72@gmail.com with any questions or comments. Blessings! ~ Doc Sellars Life Guide Bible Study Here it is almost the end of 2015. We have had such a wonderful study this year in "Believe..." Women's Bible Study. The women who attend are kind, articulate, wise and genuinely love God and His Word. It has been an interesting journey this year as we studied some of the attributes of a Godly woman. In November and December, we are completing our 2015 study guide. The first two weeks in November we discussed what constitutes a prayer warrior, what impedes the warrior, and how, when and where to pray. In mid-November we discussed how a Godly woman is teachable and obedient, and the first two weeks of December we will discuss a Bible-loving and God- loving woman. In 2016 we will begin another adventure with a whole new study guide. On Nov. 20 we drew names as we began our secret sister project, leaving treats, small gifts and surprises on each other's doorsteps once or twice a week for just under four weeks. We will hold the big reveal at our Christmas potluck and social on Dec. 18. Everyone looks forward to the amazing fare brought by these wonderful women, and the fellowship and camaraderie that we enjoy. Many friendships have developed as we meet each week, get to know each other, and grow in the Lord together. If you are interested in participating in a non-denominational study of the Bible, please consider joining us. Any level of Bible knowledge is encouraged, and any Bible translation as well. We meet every Friday morning at 10:30 am in the first section of the Ballroom. We'll be looking for you! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine "Believe…" Women's Bible Study The perspective of the current artist: My only drawing experience was back in high school. In an art class, I "tried" to draw a vase with flowers. Years later, I decided to try the Drawing & Sketching class here in our community. During my first class I wasn't sure if I would be able to draw a straight line. During the last six months, under the direction and guidance of the instructor, Rob Kelman, I've learned to observe things with another perspective. While guiding me through one of my drawings, Rob mentioned he was teaching me another language (that makes my third since Spanish is my first and English is my second) and he was right! He taught me how to observe nature and objects. I began realizing different details I had never noticed before. It truly was like learning another language. I'm working on my fourth drawing. Each is a different challenge that I take on with much enthusiasm, as I love to discover new things in each one. I may never reach the level of my classmates and many of my drawings might remain in my portfolio, but I have the satisfaction of knowing that I put all my efforts into making them the best I could at the time. Like any language… I have to practice constantly! This landscape combines forms of tree trunks and shadows to give you a sense of a trail in a deep forest. If you want to discover your skills and your sense of observation, come and join our class. We meet Mondays 10 am - 12 noon and/or Wednesdays 6 - 8 pm. ~ Paty Bushnell Any questions about either class, feel free to call Rob Kelman at (951) 992-9156 or (602)571-0414. ~ Rob Kelman Creative Drawing & Sketching Class Work by the Artist of the Month Paty Bushnell
