46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2015 Nov. 3 was an especially fun day for the Billiards for Fun Group. We held our third quarterly in-house tournament. It went much more smoothly than the last tournament, when we had 24 players participate at one time. That was a bit chaotic, to say the least. November's event was a whole lot easier, and smooth as silk, because we had one tournament in our 11 am session, and after double- elimination play, one partnership won: Mike Olsen and Mike Fisher. Then the 1 pm session began, and after exciting double-elimination play, partners Ken Gomer and Richard Carrasco were left standing as winners. However, then Mike and Mike, and Ken and Richard faced off, playing to win two out of three games and declared the overall champions. Almost all the group was in attendance watching the final play, and there was a great deal of silent breath holding. Richard Carrasco always turns his hat backwards when he is intently focused on a shot (see photo). And Mike Olsen has consistent laser focus (see photo). But who were the November champs, you ask? If you would like to participate with a wonderful group of Four Seasons residents who love the game of billiards, yet have a raucous good time each week, with laughter, good-natured taunts, and genuine encouragement, please come by the billiards room any Tuesday. Our first session begins at 11 am and ends at 1 pm when session two begins. The second session ends at 3 pm, yet some of the participants hang around for "just a couple more games." We always have a great time, even when we're having an "off" day, to which we reply: "There's always next week."
