| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2015 | 23 Cheers! The Sun Lakes Mystery Theater will hold its annual Christmas Party for members and guests on Sun., Dec. 13, at 5 pm in the South Clubhouse. Cost is $10 per member, refundable at the door; guests are $10. To sign up for this merry event, which includes a delicious catered dinner and all beverages, contact Jan Stapel at 769-6110 ASAP. In other news, rehearsals have begun for our much anticipated musical/variety event, "That's Entertainment from Vaudeville to Gypsy," scheduled for Feb. 25-28, 2016, and directed by Pat Naylor. The show features songs and skits as well as numbers from the long-running hit "Gypsy," once described by legendary theater critic Walter Kerr as "the best damn musical I ever saw." Also, if you've ever thought about getting involved in a theatrical production, now's your chance. We are looking for volunteers to serve in a variety of roles — set design and construction, costumes, prop manager, stage hands, house manager, publicity, tickets sales, ushers and the like. You'll meet a lot of friendly Sun Lakers and have fun as well. Contact Pat at pnaylor050@gmail.com, or come to a Mystery Theater meeting the first Tuesday of each month, stage side at 1 pm. Happy holidays to everyone! Mystery Theater & More The end of the year is upon us and the terms of our board of directors are ending. Elections were held in November and the following members were elected to their two year terms taking office at the Christmas Party in December. President – Lee Stone Vice President/Publicity – Russell Anderson Vice President/Activities – Bob Bray Secretary – Sue Dunn Treasurer – Debbie Lewin Three of these directors have never held Drama Club offices before and they join two members, Sue Dunn and Debbie Lewin, who have years of experience in drama production and club management. President Lee Stone has joined us from San Diego where she ran and managed a little theatre she founded. She has long experience in both theatre performing and managing. She and her husband are fairly new here to Sun Lakes and the Drama Club is very lucky to have them. Vice President for Activities is another newcomer with lots of experience. He recently directed the Fall Reader's Theatre production of Sorry Wrong Number and the Hitchhiker to great success. The club had two successful years under the direction of President Martie Steggell. Our perennial treasurer, Harriet Briant, leaves her position after many years managing the money to concentrate on her acting career in many different venues here in the Inland Empire. Ron Nelson, who joined the club in 2003 is going to be taking a rest after acting as President, Vice President, director of several productions, and acting in many others. Rose Hermanson, secretary for many years, is also retiring from this position on the board but will continue on stage as one of our most experienced players. The club is looking forward to its annual Christmas Party which is always a fun event. If any of you reading this have any interest in theatre, in any capacity, please come out to a meeting the first Thursday of each month stage side in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 1 pm. If you'd like more information please call Sue Dunn at 769- 7552. Drama Club
