Sign ups will be received between Dec. 1 and Dec. 10 by leaving your checks and sign-up form in the mailbox located on the front gate at 782 Torrey Pines Rd. December's dance is Sat., Dec. 19. Doors open at 5:30 pm. The Christmas season offers us a chance to put on our formal clothes for a very "formal" evening. No dance lessons are offered on formal nights, but from 6 to 9:30 pm we'll enjoy the great music of the Sophisticats. Our menu begins with a cup of red pepper soup followed by one of these great entrees: 1) Top sirloin steak (cooked medium) $29; 2) Grilled salmon with lemon dill sauce $29. Both entrees will be served with baked potato and whole baby carrots; 3) Rigatoni primavera with tomato, carrots, garlic, and green onion topped with Parmesan cheese $20. Kragh strawberry and cream parfait tops off our meal. If you sign up and are unable to attend, you may call Carla at 797-3506 before 3 pm on the day of the dance, and she will arrange for you to pick up your meal to enjoy at home. You will be able to get up-to-date information on each month's menu, band, and special notices as well as be able to print your sign-up forms and check the seating chart. Come join us for a special formal holiday evening. Dinner Dance Club Here we are in another holiday season. We have a full schedule for December which we will try to make as relaxing and enjoyable as we can. Our one Country Western dance will be on Mon., Dec. 14, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 7 pm. Monday? Yes, a Monday. We know this is an unusual day and is late in the month, but it was the best we could get. We are making this a FREE dance to encourage you to come. We will make this a relaxing event so you can enjoy some holiday music and good company along with some festive decorations. Line dance instruction will only be Mon., Dec. 7, from 7 to 8:30 pm at the South Clubhouse. There is no couples dance instruction this month. Finally, we will have our 16th annual New Year's Eve Dance, Dec. 31. We reached our limit of 50 paid sign ups early this year. So, if you're one of the lucky ones, remember to come and join your friends for an evening of fun, dancing and entertainment with a full catered dinner. We will celebrate a Denver New Year with a champagne toast and a lot of noise. This year we are again at the North Clubhouse, 7:30 to 11 pm. Country Western Dance The Stardust Dancers are hard at work tweaking their routines to conform to the addition of new members in many of the numbers. Two new musical offerings are coming along great. The modeling class will be performing "Christmas in New York" at the Christmas tree lighting event. On activities day, there will be a performance of their signature number "One," and a novelty dance routine to "Pink Panther." This group attends many outside theater shows throughout the year. Presently reservations are being taken for "Young Americans," "Peking Acrobats" and "Dancing From the Movies," which will be held at the La Mirada Theater. Three Vegas are scheduled for February in Mesquite Nevada, and "Sweet Charity" is planned at the Lawrence Welk Theatre.
