Our next event will be a dance only in the beautifully decorated Ballroom all decked out for Christmas. Save the date… Dec. 3. Members are $10 and guests are $15. Come and start your holiday season listening to the Main Street Swing Band. There will be bar service and an hors d' oeuvre menu on each table. 2016 membership dues are due in January. Dues are $25 pp and can be paid at the first dance of the year Jan. 28. Please make membership check separate from dance fee. This will be a dance only event. We will have a new board next year. Carol Rhine was nominated for President and she will select her officers for the board. Voting will be at our Dec. 3 dance. I, along with Pat McClelland and Audrey Walsh have enjoyed working on behalf of the Big Band Dance Club. We wish you a healthy and Happy New Year. The year has sped by and here we are in December planning our Christmas and holiday parties here at Sun Lakes and also other places with family, friends and various clubs. Our year end monthly dinner dance is on the second Thursday evening in December when we celebrate the holiday season. We feature a very special dinner buffet that starts at 6:30 pm by table call, and is generally over by 7:30 pm. The food entrees will be a carvery station with strip loin and Cabernet and horseradish sauce, champagne salmon, garlic roasted mashed potatoes, and a squash medley. The dinner salad is mixed greens with dried cranberries, mushrooms, and red onion rings. Raspberry vinaigrette and ranch dressings along with warm dinner rolls and butter will be table served. The dessert will be a surprise of some kind of delicious treat along with coffee and water also table served. Iced tea can be found on a side board. The doors to the Ballroom will open at 5:30 pm, you will be personally greeted by either Evelyn or Martie, and you can buy your 50-50 tickets at a desk as you enter. Your club supports two food banks in the area with some of the proceeds from the 50-50 on a monthly contribution basis. Sophisticats will provide the music for the dancing and listening pleasure starting at 6:30 pm. Sign ups for this evening are on the first Thursday afternoon in December at the North Clubhouse at 3 pm. $22 for members and $25 for non-resident guests. Club dues of $20 per year for 2016 per member can be paid at anytime, and are due in January to be able to attend. Join now for 2016 and you'll get 13 months of membership, starting with this month's dance. Call Martie Steggell for a take-out dinner box at 769-3217 if you cannot attend after signing up. International Culture Club International Dancers 80s Plus Club Big Band Dance Happy Holidays from International Dancers of Sun Lakes. 2015 has been a good year for us. Our shows in August were a huge success, which enabled us to donate to three local institutions: House of Decision, Soroptimist House of Hope, and The Pantry. Our Sun Lakes Notables provided wonderful entertainment for our September gathering. They began with a Beatles Medley, then the women sang Dream and Can You Read My Mind. Then, altogether, they sang Hernando's Hideaway complete with the men wearing their gaucho hats. The ladies had new black and gold costumes, the men in black and white, and they all looked spectacular and sounded even better. The December dinner is catered.
