For the second month in a row, Larry Rice has won our in-house 8-Ball
Tournament and for the second time Larry came up from the losers column
to do so. In round four, Rick sent Larry to the losers bracket thus propelling
Rick Loney into the semi finals. Larry defeated Mary Ann Diehl in the losers
bracket to return to the semi final match against Rick. Larry then preceded
to beat Rick twice to take the monthly title. Good job Larry!
Twelve players entered the 9-Ball arena this month to vie for the title. Kenny
Payne won the first four rounds to land in the finals. Ray Windhorn dropped
into the losers bracket in the second round with a loss to OC O'Campo, but
returned to the finals by securing a win against Del Lyles, our captain. Ray
won the first game of the finals against Kenny but Kenny prevailed in the
second game to win the overall title of this month's 9 Ball champion.
Congratulations go out to Larry Rice and Kenny Payne, this month's in-
house tournament champions!
All who attended the end-of-year gala hosted by Solera Diamond Valley
(sometimes referred to as Hemet) had a great time and a wonderful meal,
shared with our friends. We meet to play against them in friendly games,
our "traveling tournaments," throughout the year and over the years we
have become very good friends. We enjoy celebrating the year of good
sportsmanship and fun with them and it's a special bonus when they host
the event.
