FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2016 39 Performing Arts Club I hope everyone enjoyed their respective holidays and are ready to celebrate 2016 by attending ALL the exciting new shows we have planned. We put our collective, creative heads together and decided on seven productions for the community to enjoy. Hopefully you've purchased your 2016 calendars, since this is the perfect opportunity to put these dates into your books. As time draws closer to these shows, I'll supply you with greater details. They are, in chronological order: Friday, Feb. 5, 6 pm: Old Time Radio Show #1 ~ Tom Shelley, Producer. There will be 2 radio shows, Blondie (& Dagwood) and Gunsmoke. April 1: 1960s Comedy & Variety Show ~ John Horning, Producer July 4: Patriotic Independence Day Show Sept. 23: Comedy Show Oct. 21: Old Time Radio Show #2 Dec. 2 & 3: Holiday Show Dec. 8: Professional Magic Show Wow! That's a lot of entertainment, all at NO CHARGE, totally FREE! We do have many expenses that we incur putting on these shows. Costumes, scenery, props, music, and more, all have costs. We would love to see your appreciation by placing a donation of whatever you want or can afford into our decorated donation box which is at every show at the back of the room, near the entrance. Your donations allow us to keep bringing you more creative and upscale shows than those from years past. We would also love your participation. Except for Radio Show #1 (the casts have already been selected), all of the other shows are looking for participants. Singers, comedians, actors, magicians, instrumentalists, bands, writers, stagehands, and crew are all welcome. If you have a talent or would just like to be part of a performance or two, please let me know and I'll get you in touch with the right person. You won't be disappointed. Don't worry about stage fright… between the lights and the fun you're having, you won't even realize there's an audience out there! Try it, you'll like it! Same goes for the choir. If you're blessed with a good voice, lucky you! If you weren't, but enjoy singing to the radio… don't think that the choir is made up of all excellent singers. As a member of the choir, I can honestly tell you, it isn't. We have several with fabulous voices. The rest of us as a group meld our voices to make beautiful music with our average voices. I don't know how she does it, but Barbara Wasco, our masterful leader, takes our mash-up of voices and creates the most difficult music from a mess on day one to phenomenal by performance day.
