Taking on another challenge in the New Year may not sound appealing, but sometimes we get to choose our challenges. Playing paddle tennis in January may sound utterly ridiculous to some, in fact, even writing about it in the month of December is something of a challenge. But whether or not if El NiƱo weather kicks in there are those of us that prove that paddle tennis is a very enjoyable sport. The invitation stands for any of those of you that would be interested in a different form of tennis. Last fall we enjoyed watching new players immediately pick up paddles, play a short while and then very fast improve within a short time. The veterans of the paddle group players have always offered friendly tips, extra paddles and balls, and opportunities to gather for lunches and other social events. The November 2015 lunch was especially enjoyable sharing with the ping pong players, and catered by Tacos & Beer. So, this month brave the elements, take on a challenge and play or come to observe, celebrate and participate in this fast growing popular sport. ~ Perry White FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2016 43 Paddle Tennis Do you like basketball?
