46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2016
This group started the year off right, amidst lots of fun, laughter
and good-natured competition.
On Feb. 2 we will have our next in-house tournament. Each session
will pull peas to determine partnerships, and the winning partnership
from the morning session will compete with the afternoon session's
winners, to determine the pair that gets their name on the perpetual
winners' plaque for the month of February. It's always a lot of fun,
and some of our players have become incredibly and astoundingly
proficient at this game. I kid you not, some of the bank shots and
defensive shots are professional grade!
The Billiards for Fun group plays every Tuesday from 11 am to 1
pm and from 1 to 3 pm. There are also two informal practice sessions
on Saturdays at the same times as Tuesdays. Come check us out —
we have a lot of fun!
The "Curly Cues," an all-women's billiards group, began on Jan. 11
with about 16 members. We hope to grow to two sessions for the
women as well. Some of the women already have a handle on the
game, and others are beginners. One of the leaders plays a game
with the more experienced group, and the other teaches the beginner
group, and the next week we switch. If any of you women readers
would be interested in joining this group, and learning to play this
fun game, we play every Monday from 2 to 4 pm in the Billiards
Room. Come by and check us out! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine
