Women In Touch (WIT) As many of you know, there is a very special group of ladies here in the community who have bonded together to form the WIT Team. This group of ladies all share a common bond, the loss of the love of their life. This group of ladies meets the first Monday of every month in the Ballroom at 5 pm for dinner and lively conversation. After dinner, for those that are interested, we adjourn to the Crafts Room for a couple of games of "nickels," a fun, easy and fast moving game with a jackpot of nickels! We are your support group, and this is your invitation to come join us and be a part of the WIT Team here at Four Seasons! 27 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | February 2016 | From the President – Dave Cometa: Arnold Palmer once said; "Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening - and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented." Oh, how I agree with that quote. However, as I have known the simple, the complicated, the satisfying, the frustrating, the maddening and the rewarding aspects of this game, I have also known of the great fellowship I have with our fellow players in playing this great game here at Hemet 4 Seasons Golf Club. Sam Snead said, "Nobody asked how you looked, just what you shot." The same goes for our members here at Four Seasons. Most really don't care how old you are, or what you wear, or what your ability is or your lack thereof in playing this great game. We only care about you just being out there playing. So, if you have not joined our Golf Club, or if you have not been playing for whatever reason, come on, what's holding you back? As for 2016, I am so looking forward in serving our Club this year and want you all to know that I, along with our great Golf Board and its Committee Chairpersons are committed to doing everything we can to make this the best year ever! We were voted in to serve and we will do our best to do just that. See you on the links! From the Tournament Chair – Addis Scott: To play in our Tuesday games, you may sign up at our prior Tuesday golf event, or contact the Tournament Committee by email at hemet4sgc@gmail.com. One hundred fifty members renewed their membership, three new members joined, five members moved and 12 members did not renew their membership. We welcome Wayne Odle, our newest member. Membership in the club is always available. Applications for membership can be picked up at the Lodge. Submit your application with a check for $63 made out to Hemet 4 Seasons Golf Club, which includes Club and SCGA membership. If you need further assistance contact me at 951.223.3735 or email me at ey1611@ gmail.com. I encourage all to join and enjoy Tuesday's play, as well as our social functions. From the Rules Chair – Tom Johnson: Four Seasons Golf Club offers an opportunity for golfers of all abilities to play golf and have fun. In order for there to be a level playing field for all, we need to know the rules of golf and conscientiously play by them. This year there is a new rulebook, which took effect Jan. 1, 2016. Hopefully, you will take time to become aware of the changes, which do not seem to be very big, unless your ace putting is based on using a belly putter. You can still use the putter, but you can't anchor it on your body. In the coming months I will cover the other changes that may impact our play. If you don't strength train now, please join the SASY team. This is a fun and social group. We find this time together not only good for keeping us fit, but we really do enjoy the special friendships. It's free too! Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 am in the Lodge Ballroom. If you have questions regarding this class, please call Jeanne Lincoln at 765-7112, Char Weakley at 926-2599, or Joyce Kerns at 325-8840. Strong Adults Stay Young (SASY) Our SASY Song (Sung to the tune, "Love and Marriage") Weights and lifting, Weights and lifting, Go together cuz my weight is shifting.
