32 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | May 2016 | Bocce The Bocce Club has completed their spring Scramble games for this year and had a great turnout as far as teams. We had on average about 60 players that played for a seven week tournament and then a championship play off. Next month we will publish the winners for the scramble games. The teams celebrated with a hot dog cook out with the club supplying the hot dogs and all the trimmings, and the players bringing a side dish that accents the main dish. Thanks to all who participated, it was great fun. Many thanks goes out to your scramble chairperson Sue Marlarkey who worked hard on the schedules and put together the round robin play off. I know many of us appreciated all her hard effort. Looks like we have something to look forward to next year for 2017 Bocce Scramble and encourage new players to try something different. Please join us for our regular bocce Season with sign ups starting in August. Please tell your friends that this is a game they will enjoy playing outdoors overlooking our beautiful community. Most of you know Ernie Marsicano and he would like to teach anyone interested how to play bocce on Mondays where you will find him out at the shuffleboard courts usually around 9 am in the morning. He also says he is ready to help shuffleboard players who want to learn that also, so let's help him out and keep him busy. Bocce Chairperson, Ross Brunetto, 926-8295; Bocce Scramble Chairperson, Sue Marlarkey, 223-3056. Shuffleboard season will start in the fall with sign ups beginning in August. To keep our most adamant players busy, they will be playing on Mondays starting around 9 am in the morning. You will find them playing for fun looking for more players who would like to learn to help get their interest for the Shuffleboard Season. You will find Ernie Marsicano playing Shuffleboard and he has offered again to help teach those who would like to try and play. It's a great game to play and watch and we encourage our Neighbors and Friends to come out and try it. You will be playing great after the first game, it's that easy. We are looking forward for the completion of the barbecue area so that we can start up the PM Shufflers group. Those interested meet once a month and we play for about one hour and then we all meet out at the barbecue area and cook our own meat and usually share some goodies. It's lots of fun so watch for our announcement in the magazine. Meanwhile, come watch or play we are there to help you meet some great friends and great players. Thank you in advance for being great sports. Chairperson, Ross Brunetto, 926-8295. Shuffleboard
