Garden Club 22 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2016 | Chorale After all our hard work culminated in a three night Spring Concert series last month, the Chorale will be on summer hiatus until Mon., Sept. 12, when rehearsals begin for our 26th annual Holiday Concert Series in December. Details will be forthcoming in the July and August issues of Lifestyles. We encourage all who love to sing to join our family in September. It's difficult to imagine Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and other winter holidays (not to mention snowmen and caroling) during the summer, but Director Bill Kliewer promises some new and modern versions of songs for the holiday season. The Chorale gratefully acknowledges the support of the Sun Lakes community. Hats, hats, and more hats were seen representing the theme of Happy Cookers' Kentucky Derby program on April 22. There were small hats, large hats, colorful hats and an array of home made hats worn by the ladies of the Happy Cookers. It was an excellent event and well attended. In May we had our Muffin Mania event and I'm sure many were surprised to learn what a muffin pan can produce. Now we look forward to June's program. On June 24 at 11 am in the South Clubhouse, Happy Cookers will feature a "Five Ingredient" recipe program. Members will take part in creating a dish with only five ingredients. As it relates to travel/events, stay tuned for more information which will be available next issue of Lifestyles. Our Membership Chairperson is Carolyn Wright. Call her at 797-3568 for more information. Dues are $25. Happy Cookers
