48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2016 Billiards for Fun Just when we think we've reach the epitome of the fun meter at Billiards for Fun, it just gets even more fun. For instance, in May we held our quarterly in-house tournament. The group voted on partnership play (rather than singles), beginning with our normal pea-pulling to determine partnerships. This group is usually teasing and laughing, always talking, but during tournaments the chatter dies down, and becomes so quiet you can actually hear yourself breathe as each finalist lines up a shot. After it was over, everyone was back to normal laughter and bantering. Congratulations to first place winners David Thomason and Dee Kelch, and second place winners Paul Snyder and Dennis Boozer. Great job everyone! Just before the tournament began, Johnny Ramirez awarded two of our members "rack" necklaces: gold for David Martin, and silver for Paul Snyder. What's that about, you ask? Sometimes when we play our weekly games, winners rotate to another table. However it's possible to get stuck on a certain table for almost the entire two hours of play, and the stuck players are forced to rack the balls each time, which is not a favorite pastime of this group. There was lots of laughter, and Dave and Paul were incredibly good sports as they received their awards. If you are interested in joining an amazing group of Four Seasons residents who enjoy the game of billiards and are improving immensely each week, please come by the Billiards Room at the Lodge any Tuesday. We have two sessions: 11 am to 1 pm or 1 to 3 pm. We have such a great time, and you're missing out!
