FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2016 49 The Curly Cues are having so much fun playing billiards (pool) each week, and are improving exponentially! Word is spreading about our fun group, and each of the girls is really motivated to learn the game. If you drop by the Billiards Room any given day, you will likely see a Curly Cue member practicing shots, etc. For instance, check out photo number 1, as "Dead Eye" Patty Spinosa expertly uses the bridge to line up her next strategic shot. Photo number two shows Joy Collins (left) advising partner Sharon Bond on the best ball to tackle next. Photo number three shows the intense concentration by Alice Wade as she lines up her next attempt. Plus, each of the ladies is really kind and fun! We have grown to more than 28 members, and since the billiards room can only accommodate 16 players at any one time, we voted as a group to break into two Monday sessions: 1 to 3 pm and 3 to 5 pm. Time adjustments may have to be made if the ladies want to play longer than one and a half hours. They have fun, so we'll see! We had a great luncheon at Guy's Restaurant on May 16 planned and implemented by Leta Ramirez, and nearly 20 ladies were in attendance. We chatted and laughed and got to know each other better. As a group we plan bi-monthly luncheons at different restaurants, and so far we've chosen restaurants that are able to accommodate this big group. Any of you Four Seasons ladies who have always been curious if you have a talent for playing billiards yet never learned, now's your chance! We will give you a two-hour individual lesson to learn technique, rules and strategy, and then you will join the group for partnership play. If you have played pool before, c'mon over any Monday and join in the fun, giggling and friendships! Don't be shy, now, because we're all at about the same experience level, with a couple of sharp-shooter exceptions.
