20 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2016 | Residents Gallery Displays a Variety of Art by Talented Residents Mike Yeager and Earl McNeese are both featured on the Residents Gallery wall for May and June. Mike Yeager is a native Californian from the Central Valley. He came to the southern California area at 20 years of age. He worked as a Registered Nurse serving our veterans at the Long Beach VA Hospital in the critical care setting until he became a night supervisor. Mike retired after 35 years. He felt he needed a hobby so he started beading, quilting, and taking classes. He has joined many clubs and venues. Earl McNeese was born in Michigan and came to California at an early age. He is a Vietnam veteran. Earl ran a "time and attendance" company for 42 year, then retired to Hemet Four Seasons, where he took a few photography classes and joined several photography clubs in the area. He is now the Gallery Director for the Hemet Valley Art Association. Earl loves taking landscapes and floral photos. Andre Lohnert, a resident artist here at Four Seasons, is displayed in the cabinet of the Residents Gallery. Andre has taught classes here at Four Seasons and elsewhere. He is a well-known artist throughout southern California. In 1983, Andre opened a painting conservation studio in Long Beach. At that time he still could find time to paint his own pictures. But soon was so busy restoring damaged or neglected old masterpieces that at the end the day couldn't look at another painting, let alone to pick up a brush and start to work on one of his own. So he turned to sculpture, taking classes at California State University and Mt. San Jacinto College where he cast many of his pieces in bronze. Along with a few paintings, Andre has selected smaller bronzes and pieces he carved in bone, antler and whale tooth for the cabinet display. Please come visit the "Residents Gallery" in the Lodge.
