6 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2016 | A Note From Your Activities Director By Louise Ceccarelli Meet Sergent Maria Martinez of Allied Barton Security Please welcome two new members to Four Seasons service providers. John Stearns, pictured to the right, is our handyman around the Lodge. When you see John, say "Hi!" Maria Martinez, pictured below, is the new sergeant with Allied Barton. Please read her bio and not only welcome her to Four Seasons, but thank her for her service to our country as well! During my senior year in high school, I made a decision to proudly serve my country. In April of 2005 I signed up for the delayed entry program with the United States Marine Corps Orange County recruiting office. Shortly after graduating high school in August of 2005, I was dispatched to South Carolina to commence boot camp in Perris Island. My first duty station was located in Beaufort, SC with Marine Wing Support Squadron 273. In less than a year of being in my first unit I participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After my tour in Iraq I remained in South Carolina for the remainder of my first enlistment. Upon re-enlisting for a second term I received orders to Camp Pendleton, CA, where I would complete my second and final enlistment. In September of 2013, I ended my military career as a Sergeant of Marines, with an honorable discharge, Army Achievement Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (2), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (W/2 Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Letter of Appreciation, and a Sharpshooter Rifle Qualification Badge. I have had the pleasure to work for Allied Barton Security for two years now. Currently I am pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Management, expected completion in early 2017. I am extremely delighted to be welcomed to the Four Seasons community and looking forward to working with all of you and providing excellent customer service to you and your guests. Sergeant Maria Martinez L - R: Tim LeBlanc, 4 Paws 4 Patriots; Paula Natale & Jennifer Trebler, Hemet Hospice; Bob Hagen, Emergency Preparedness; Mike Rhodes, California Military Institute It was an emotional day at the Annual Meeting as we said "Farewell" and "Thanks for the years of service" to Hal Townend, who resigned at the end of his term. He gave the community eight years as a Board member, plus many other years volunteering in several positions. Recipients of the funds raised at Taste of Elegance… Thanks to all who participated! New Faces at Four Seasons!
