Meditation, an integral part of proceeding on a path of Self (God) – Realization promises to do just that. When the mind with its myriad thoughts becomes quiet and still, we can feel what lies beyond. The Pure, Non-Dual (only ONE) Consciousness lies beyond and is our True, Undifferentiated and Eternal Being. Satsang (group meeting with a spiritual aim) begins with a 30 min. meditation (15 min. if new people are present) followed by a discourse and a short video presentation offered by a teacher adhering to the same teaching of Non-Duality. As always questions are warmly encouraged. We meet in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Our weekly schedule is as follows: Wednesdays at 2:30 pm – 4 pm (NOTE: On the 4th Wednesday of the month satsang starts at 3:30 pm) Sundays at 2:30 pm – 4 pm This is a FREE offering. My background includes 29 years of formal spiritual practice under the guidance of two masters and seven years of teaching (five at Sun Lakes). You need not bring anything except an Open Mind. Meditation: a pathway to truth Karaoke Group I'm sure from time to time many of you have thought about a special song that seems to represent the essence of a very special someone in your life that you love or have loved. For example there are endless possibilities of songs that convey the words and feelings of exactly what you'd like to say. That special song might be "For Sentimental Reasons," or "Only You," or possibly "You're The Top" or maybe "I Can't Stop Loving You." There are so many songs about love that it would be no easy task to pick just a few from so large a category such as "Love" One thing we have not mentioned this time around is the ladies who always make our Karaoke shows so entertaining and fun, Barb Miller & Rosie Ingalls. In previous print of these gatherings we have filled you in on Barb Miller & D.J. Blast's background but what has remained a mystery to almost all who have read these Karaoke columns is the lack of Information regarding the lovely Rosie Ingalls. She is the lady with the magic smile who probably doubled for Julia Roberts in Hollywood and no doubt was a runway model once not to mention her stint as an airline stewardess in her younger days. Rosie is the best kept secret in this Troupe of Karaoke presenters to date. So we would like you to start thinking of which songs you may want to sing when you come out for our next shows in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom on July 9 and the South Clubhouse on July 22, all shows start at 5:30 pm and end at 9:30 pm. We extend our invitation to you again and maybe when you show up you can ask Rosie which movie she doubled for Julie Roberts in? That is something worth finding out. Golf Cart Parade – Watch for the Art League float in the Golf Cart Parade on the 4th of July. Art Display Cases – Rosa Gascoigne will be changing the art in the display cases at the Main Clubhouse on Mon., July 11, at 8 am. Please bring in new art at that time, and be sure to pick up your artwork currently on display there. The Art League will not have a General Meeting in July. The next General Meeting is Sun., Aug. 21, at 2 pm at the South Clubhouse. Acrylic artist Alan Reos will talk about the differences between acrylics and oils and will also demo in acrylics. The Fall Art Show will be Sat., Sept. 10. All Art League members are invited to enter up to five items. Entry forms will be available in the Art League bin at the Main Clubhouse starting on July 15.
