20 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2016 | Wreath Making Class A Success Harv Fischer is a native of Southern California. He attended Northview High School in Covina and Junior College at Cerritos where he caught the eye of his future wife Tari. He then transferred to Long Beach State as an art major. He joined the National Guard in 1970, the year their first child was born. In January of 1974 they welcomed their second child, a son. That spring he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and Long Beach State had become the Universality of California at Long Beach. Before he went into the service he took a job with GM and returned to it after he served. While working and raising a family he continued his post grad education, focusing on bio-medical illustration. He also sold and showed his work at galleries from Colorado to Laguna Beach as well as numerous art shows in Orange County. He retired after 20 years and pursued his long-time dream to teach art. In 1980 the family moved from Orange County to Temecula. At that time Temecula had a population of 2,500. Harv and Tari built their dream house on five acres in the hills above Temecula called Deluz. They also opened an art gallery and custom framing shop in Old Town. And as the population grew, so did their business. Some of the notable customers were Jack Klugman and Don Ameche. But our top and favorite artist is Ken Eberts. Ken is a close friend and one of the top automotive artist out there, featured in numerous magazines and books. Ken was chosen to do the 100th year anniversary calendar for Ford Motor Company. The artist that did the 50th was Norman Rockwell. Harv is the head of the Fine Arts and Ceramics department at Tahquitz High School. He also serves as Head Golf Coach for both boys and girls teams. His students have won numerous top awards throughout the valley. We enjoyed our May 12 A.R.T. Event, the Wreath Making Class by Judy Smith and Sue Fowler July's Gallery Featured Artist
