6 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2016 | A Note From Your Activities Director By Louise Ceccarelli This year is running away from us — it's already July. If you haven't purchased your ticket for the July 4th celebration, do so now at the front desk. It's going to be a fun, old fashioned style of celebration. There is a Pie Baking Contest as well (rules and entry form below), so get out your best recipe and enter — who knows, you could win! The dance band for July 4th is "Big Truth Little Lies," a Fleetwood Mac tribute band that was here on the plaza last year and greatly enjoyed by all in attendance. There are several events lined up for summer and fall, so mark your calendars and get ready to have some MORE FUN! For those of you who purchased tickets for the Champagne Brunch Excursion on July 10, remember to be at the Lodge at 8:15 am so we can load the bus and be out of here by 8:30 am. If you have not signed your waiver form (we need one for each person), please come a little earlier to do so. July 26, Music on the Plaza presents "Shades of Sound" for just $5 per person. This band includes our own Gary Lewis, so come on out for good music and dancing. Our annual car show is going to be Oct. 22. We are continuing with our "Oktoberfest" theme. Each year we try to make it bigger and better. If you would like to volunteer to help, please let me know — leave your name and email at the front desk. If you have friends with classic cars, invite them to join us. This event is open to guests. Also "Save the Date" for Mon., Oct. 31. We are combining Music, a Halloween Costume Contest, and a Chili Cook-off out on the Plaza for just $5 per person. Francisco's tacos will be available for purchase. Watch for more information on the electronic display screen in the lobby as well as the information counter by the fireplace. Stay cool and see you around the Lodge. 1.
