26 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2016 | Yiddish Culture Club With the arrival of the Jupiter Space Probe on its course, the Board of the Yiddish Culture Club has realized that if we want to keep up with things we too must enter the 21st century and join in the adventures of these times. Therefore, on Aug. 10, at 7 pm in the South Clubhouse, we will make history when our own trip to outer space begins with the new presentation "SPACED OUT!" The satire, a spoof of Star Trek and Star Wars, features Captain Cork, Mr. Spank, Dr. Muscles, and the large crew of the starship USS Hertz! "SPACED OUT!" is written and directed by Linda Viera, and stars YCC members Al Knudsen, Sandra Caton, Denny Rugenstein, Stanley Vitt, Pete Grinceri, Betty McMillion, and Ted Grady. YCC members and guests interested in being part of the crew (with non-speaking parts) are invited to attend the performance wearing black shirts and pants. RSVP by Aug. 5. The YCC has had so many requests from members, guests, and friends to view the interesting documentaries that we have shown over the years that we have decided to establish our own lending library of these films (DVDs). Does the "Heart of your Heart" inspire you to sing? Do you long to call your sweetheart in song? If so, then you should check out the Sun Lakes Men's Barbershop Chorus. No prior singing experience necessary, just a willingness to listen, learn, and join in. We are a group of amateurs like yourself who enjoy singing and having fun. Those of you who enjoy RV travel, the company of good friends, and like to have fun in beautiful settings, are welcome to join our club. Activities include bocce ball, golf, beanbag baseball and more. We have some planned meals so we can be together with our members, and some free time so we can explore the areas we visit.
