Her great disappointment was when she was not able to fly to Sacramento to see them her last few years because of her declining health. Mercedes is survived by her daughter Paulette Gregg Schulte, son-in-law Roger Schulte, grandson Jeffrey Paul Gregg, granddaughter-in-law Laurie Gregg, great- grandchildren Anna and Justin Gregg, nephews Randy Hampton and Scott Hampton, and niece Laurie Hampton. She is predeceased by husbands and her sister, Dolores. Mercedes sparking blue eyes, warm smile, and kindness will always be remembered. She was fun loving, feisty, strong-willed and loved a good laugh. Known for her care and love of her family and friends, she would do anything for them. Mercedes did not want a service or memorial gifts. If you prefer, donations in her name may be made to a charity of your choice. "Love love love bursting in your hearts tonight for Mercedes. Tears glitter down. Whisps of smoke linger. A passage made." ~ Poem by Sally Lamas, Roger's niece Darrell Sandlian, Cmdr. USN Ret., 82, departed this world on June 22, 2016. He had Alzheimer's disease. He had a long naval career followed by a second career flying for TWA. Darrell moved to Sun Lakes in 2005 where he met his neighbor Sally Simonson. The couple soon realized "it was meant to be" and they were married in 2006. Darrell enjoyed tennis, bowling and dancing. He was a member of Friendship Club, ICC, a bowling team and dinner dance club. Darrell is survived by his loving wife Sally, his daughters Karen and Karol and step daughters Julie and Janet. Darrell was truly a kind man, an officer and a gentleman. He will be missed. Victor Gorden Shuey, 90, passed away on June 8, 2016. He was a resident of Sun Lakes for 17 years, previously of San Bernardino for 33 years. He worked for the Federal Government as Regional Director, Air Force Commissary Services, GS-15. He was member of the Beaumont Presbyterian Church. He belonged to Dinner Dance Club, Friendship Club and Paisano Club, RV Club, all at Sun Lakes Country Club. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf at Sun Lakes, dancing the night away, camping in the RV, fishing and playing poker. Victor is survived by his wife Georgeanne Shuey; son Victor G. Shuey, Jr.; daughter Joy Diane Shuey; son Gary D. Shuey; son Robert E. Shuey; grandchildren Kiana L. Letizia, Summer Shuey, Heather Shuey, Josef Shuey, Robert Shuey, Rhiannon Shuey, and great grandchildren Gracie Espinoza and Elania Barrale. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Dean.
