The Creative Spotlight
Ralph F Perdomo
Photographer/Digital
Computer Artist
After spending 30 years as a private
investigator in Atlanta, Georgia, I
retired in Hemet, California. I came
out here for the weather and to help
my sister on one of her horse ranches. Most of my former photography
experience was in surveillance photography. Now I get to photograph
what "I want and what I like." I've gone from a smelly chemical
darkroom to Digital Photography on a computer. The transition was so
much more enjoyable. The smell of a photographic darkroom is not at
all pleasing.
I enjoy photographing a wide selection of subjects. If it looks pretty to
me and pleasing to the eye, I attempt to capture that beauty in an image
for others to share also. I like taking photographs of people much more
now than I used to. I still do my own editing and printing of my work.
There is a certain thrill of downloading the work from the camera and
seeing it on the large computer screen. I consider myself to be a digital
computer artist. I am not adverse to taking out telephone lines and poles,
or absolutely anything that does not enhance the photograph to make
the image more pleasing to the eye. Shown here are some samples of
my work taken while traveling internationally. They include my self-
portrait, Old Mill, Lightning on Lake, Greek Islands and Fall Lake.
