FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2016 39 September is a BIG rehearsal month for the Performing Arts Club. There's lots going on and we're very busy rehearsing, writing, and planning. The Four Seasons Singers is officially starting Holiday Show rehearsals on Monday, Sept. 5, to learn the new songs and re- familiarize ourselves with some previous favorites. We rehearse Mondays at 3 pm in the Ballroom. If you sing in the shower or along with music, you should strongly consider joining the choir. You don't need to have the voice of a soloist, but if you do, that's great! A choir is successful when voices blend together. We do have some voices of solo quality, but the majority of us do not. If you'd like to join us, come down on a Monday afternoon. We'd love to add you and your voice to our cohesive group of men and women. Next, one of our favorites: The Olde Time Radio Shows from the '40s is on Friday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm. It's a FREE EVENT! Since it's radio, actors read from scripts. Although we have scripts, some rehearsal is necessary to make sure that we give you the best performances possible. The first of two shows is a fan favorite, The Lone Ranger. The second one is Blondie. If you were at the last show, we will begin where the previous one left off. Recap of last show: Dagwood wanted a new car. Blondie yearned for a fridge, with only enough money for one of them. Blondie manipulated her way, a way only she could do, to buy the icebox and car for the $500 they had, and in the end, made everyone involved happy. I can only imagine what she'll be up to next! You'll find out at the show on Friday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 pm. Bring/buy your dinner and drink of choice, settle down at one of the round tables and enjoy the FREE SHOW! Done with rehearsals, now to the Holiday Show. I'm looking for both actors and singers (men and women). There will be four short stories and songs (you'll need to memorize your lines). Contact me at terimk@verizon.net or (951) 982-9156. The Performing Arts Club thanks the anonymous donor for their $300: "In Memory of Jeanne Sandoval." ~ Teri Meyers-Kelman Performing Arts Club Bridge for Fun Our Monday and Wednesday bridge groups just keep growing. We are up to four tables most of the time — and sometimes five! We have a great afternoon meeting new people and seeing our friends. It is what it says — "bridge for fun!" Verina makes sure of that! We recently had a few new people join our group. They had not played for some time and were learning. They have come along great and their weekly scores are right up there with the rest of us. So if you have ever thought about learning the game or want to take it up again, let us know. You can also just come and watch to see if it's your thing. We meet in the Card Room in the Lodge at 12 noon sharp on Monday and Wednesday. Monday info., Bill Guy (951) 845-5627. Wednesday info., Verina Rector (951) 769-1687 or Tom Halley (760) 898-3215. ~ Tom Halley
