36 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | September 2016 | Bocce Our friends and neighbors here at Four Seasons are familiar with August and September. It's a sign that summer lingers, and HOT days continue to change schedules, changes activities, and a time for some to do nothing. But for those who know, it is also the months that include favorite activities, such as Bocce and Shuffleboard and BBQs. To encourage more of you here in our wonderful community, this month has meaning to the clubs that sponsor more than sitting around a table, or sitting in the computer room playing cards, or just watching TV that can drive you crazy. It's a ritual that takes place at the end of dummer. More than 150 people at one time sat down, filled out a schedule to come up with a team of four players that hopefully could be the best team to compete in the game of Bocce. There have been many great teams and players, and lots of winners and losers, but one thing keeps making them sign up each year. They remember having fun and socializing with folks throughout the community here at Four Seasons. Our Bocce Committee feels that this year can be the best year because we have something new to bring to Bocce. We need Bocce players old and new. If you missed our presentation there is still time to sign up and get involved in a great activity — played throughout the United States and abroad. Bocce is one of the fastest growing and most played games in communities like ours. We will provide additional sign-up sheets at the Lodge information counter for you to fill out so that we can get you on a team and in the playing schedule. If you have questions and would like more information about Bocce, please call me. I hope to see many more players this year, old and new, for the 2016 season. Please, come one, come all, and we'll see you there. Chairperson, Ross Brunetto, (951) 926-8295. Fall brings a message for those who enjoy playing the game of Shuffleboard — it's Shuffleboard season here at Four Seasons. Our scheduler (just one of the many things she does for the club) sent all of last year's players a rundown of events and what to expect on sign-up day. She has all of the sign- up sheets for our players and will be assigning your time to play. If you missed signing up and are interested in playing this year, we will have forms at the Lodge information counter. Sue Malarkey has scheduled Thurs., Sept. 8 as the first day of play. She has kept the 10-week schedule and has included the Championship game to be on Nov. 19 before the Thanksgiving Holiday. We encourage our players to bring someone new and introduce them to our shuffleboard club. Perhaps they will be interested in playing this year. Thank you in advance for being great sports. Chairperson, Ross Brunetto, 926-8295. Shuffleboard Clarence and Mindy Venable have been long time members of the Healthy Living Team.
