FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2016 43 Ballroom & Social Dance Our first no-charge Dance Club Reunion will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday, Nov. 3 in our Ballroom. It is open to all who have ever taken dance lessons here in the past years. Instructors Cindy and Rhonda will give a short dance lesson, and we'll dance to a wide variety of music. It's informal, just for fun, and coffee and dessert will be served. During November we're doing the waltz — a graceful and gentle dance that almost everyone enjoys. There's something about waltz music that stirs us, so come and learn this most beautiful of dances. Then it's our Christmas Dinner Dance on Friday, Dec. 9 at 4:30 pm in the Ballroom, featuring live dance music by the popular Ron and Diane. Our menu will be green salad, chicken cordon bleu, tri- tip, vegetable, Waldorf salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh-baked bread, and cheesecake dessert. Tickets are $25 pp, but get them soon because we have limited seating and this event sells out quickly. See the poster in the Lodge for more details, or call our club captains to purchase tickets. For information, club captains Puring and Gary Stifter at (951) 922-8333, or at purings@verizon.net. ~ Willis Fagan Ever thought you might want to learn to line dance? Well, we now have a very beginners line dance class from 2:30 - 3 pm Tuesdays in the Ballroom. Please be prompt and bring water, as you will be thirsty. Most students are able to join the regular beginners group after three to four lessons. I want to thank Terry Hall for assisting in this class. She is a tremendous help, both to me, and the dancers. Our beginner group (3 - 3:45 pm) is learning more difficult dances the last 15 minutes of class. Most of them are quite surprised that they are learning the new dances so easily. Many of the steps learned in the basic dances are used in other songs in a different order. This makes learning new harder dances easier for all. The advanced group (3:45 – 4:30 pm) loves to dance and the dances are harder and faster. When finished, they feel they have had a workout. Dancing, in general, is both learning new footwork and working your brain and memory. In other words, it is exercise to music. I hope you will give line dancing a try. At least come watch for a while. You will find friendly people and music that will start your foot tapping to the beat. There will be no line dance class Nov. 22. Please call if you have any questions. Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. ~ Martha Franck Line Dancing
