FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2016 45 We meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the RCN Main Lobby Room, thus, our November meeting will be Nov. 15. Visitors are always welcome. We invite all photographers, regardless of skill level, to join us for our regular meetings, workshops, speakers, field trips, and in-house demos. For example, in our September meeting our Chairperson Irve Sturner, gave an excellent demo on the use of a camera flash trigger and receiver. For the October meeting, the assignment was to take a photograph of a landscape outside of our Four Seasons neighborhood and of the floribunda surrounding the Four Seasons. As usual, we then discussed and conducted a constructive critique. We learn a lot about various techniques, software, and hardware to enhance our work. As I've mentioned many times, the Camera Club loves to display their photography and that was no different at the Art Faire show held in the Ballroom on Sept. 24. Please see above photograph displaying some of our work. We hope to see you soon at one of our meetings. Now that the holidays are fast approaching, we'll be discussing tips and tricks for those special pictures. ~ Lyle Cameron Camera Club Our club's display at the September Art Faire. Photo by Irve Sturner The book chosen for our meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 9:30 am is The Far Pavillions by M.M. Kaye. Here is a description of the book from Amazon.com: "We all remember certain sweeping novels we hated to see come to an end; it was almost like breaking up with someone we love. You will feel that way about The Far Pavillions. From the foothills of the Himalayas through the palaces of the exotic East, this novel is a passionate and triumphant story that excites us, fills us with joy, moves us to tears, and helps us remember just what it is we want most from a novel. It is a mesmerizing story of hatred and bitter combat, of courage and human sacrifice, of the star-crossed wedding of East and West. Above all it is a tale of love – the story of Ash, an Englishman, and Juli, a princess who must choose between the heritage of her people and the man she loves. It is a story that transcends time and place, a monumental epic we will never forget." If you love books and like lively discussions of them, come join us! Our meetings are on the second Tuesday of the month at 9:30 am in the old Conference Room. Newcomers are always welcome, even if you haven't read the book. Our book for December is scheduled to be Georgia, by Dawn Tripp. For more information, please contact Doreen Sanders at (951) 769-1913. ~ Micki Rosen Book Club The Four Seasons Radio Club meets on-the-air each Wednesday night at 5:45 pm on Channel 3 FRS, and again at 6 pm on 2 meters (145.645 MHz). Our monthly club meetings are held at 10 am in Rec Center North on the last Friday of the month. With the seemingly rapid build-out of homes here in Four Seasons we find ourselves in need of additional FRS communicators to help provide critical information about your neighborhood when a disaster strikes. We provide all the training you will need. Please consider this important service to the community. Also, we invite any licensed Hams to join us. Contact Pete at (951) 845-1363 for more information. ~ Pete Hersey, KJ6NRR Four Seasons Radio Club
