FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2016 49 So how does one spend a sunny Sunday in Hemet? We participated in the 32nd Annual Oldlympics! On Sept. 18, 13 members from our pickleball family competed with over 50 other players. Ages for this event ranged from 50 to over 90. Players played four 11-point games and those who accrued the highest scores earned medals. Winners this year were: Nancy Barnaby, silver, Marty Key, bronze, and Tracy Maxwell, bronze. If one thinks that pickleball is only for "old people" well, think again! Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S., as well as internationally. Amsterdam and Madrid held international tournaments with 75 participants representing six countries. In the U.S., many colleges are offering intramural pickleball. Check out the list that shows some of the institutions offering pickleball. Is your alma mater one of them? Mine is UC Davis!
