16 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | November 2016 | Social Committee The September Social Committee Appreciation Brunch was enjoyed by all who attended this annual event. In addition to the Power Point presentation, a fun activity was planned whereby each table had an assignment to create a table decoration as it related to a special event as assigned by the items that were placed in "the bucket" undercover on the table. Talk about "creativity…" every table had a very unique decoration as you can see by the pictures and the cost was ZERO as all of the decorations came from our storage room! The October Chili Cook-Off, under the guidance of the event chair, Diane Corte and her committee, was another fun-filled evening here at Four Seasons. Congratulations to our "chili cooks;" 1st Place – Char Kopp, 2nd Place – Gene Hikel and the Peoples Choice was awarded to Dave Scott. The month of November for the Social Committee is traditionally dark as we prepare for all of the holiday activities for the month of December with the big event always being our annual New Years Eve celebration. This year the theme is "Putting on the Ritz" and you can be assured the "ritz" will be well displayed in our ballroom as we celebrate both East and West Coast times for the arrival of 2017. Tickets for this event go on sale Nov. 8… mark your calendar now and watch for more details as they unfold during the month. Ladies, another date for your calendar, Thurs., Dec. 8. Plans are underway for a Holiday Luncheon to be held in our beautifully decorated ballroom. Under consideration is a hostess for each table who will be responsible for her own table decoration… this is your time to display some of your most treasured Christmas decorations. Only a table decoration is required...tablecloths, napkins, glasses, dishes and silverware will be provided by the Social Committee and the Bistro. For more detailed information, please see the article included in this issue of the HERALD. If you would like to be a hostess for this special event, sign up sheets will be at the Lodge front desk. REMINDER – DECORATION DAY FOR THE LODGE: Tues., Nov. 29, 8 am, sign up at the front desk to volunteer to make our Lodge a showplace again for 2016! At the Appreciation Brunch we had a "special photo op!" Did you know that the Social Committee was organized in the Spring of 2004. The first meeting was held in the garage of one of the model homes. The ladies that have served as Chair of the Social Committee from 2004 to 2016 are pictured below: Colleen Rosenberger, Ellen Walsh, Chris Pounders, Marilyn Rhyne, Linda Negrete and the current Chair, Linda Adkins. And the beat goes on…
