NOV. 19, – A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY-A LITTLE BIT ROCK 'N ROLL: Back by popular demand is our night of "a little bit country — a little bit rock and roll". Wear your western wear or your poodle skirts and be prepared for a night of fun. Doors open at 5:30 pm in the North Clubhouse. The ever-popular OT who is famous for having every type of music will be our DJ. Dinner will be served at 6 pm. Chili and baked potatoes with all the fixings will be the menu. BYOB and GLASSES. DEC. 31 – FABULOUS NEW YEARS EVE EVENT: This is our most popular event of the year! The venue is the South Clubhouse so seating is limited. Cost is $35 pp and includes a fabulous dinner, party favors, music and tons of fun. The band Generations will provide the music for your listening and dancing pleasure. Don't delay, as seating is limited. JAN. 22, 2017 - NFL PLAYOFFS AND CHILI COOK-OFF: This event is always a fun time. Cost will be $5 pp and will be held at the North Clubhouse. The Genealogy Society of Sun Lakes is very thankful for our wonderful members who have contributed so much this year. An extra slice of pumpkin pie for you all! There is an organization called the Mayflower Society that is open to anyone whose ancestors arrived in Plymouth, Massachusetts as a passenger on the Mayflower. Proven lineage approved by a Historian General qualifies one to be a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. As you can imagine, this can be a lot of time and effort spent proving documents and lineage for this endeavor. Could you trace your ancestry from one of the Mayflower Pilgrims? Surprisingly many can. There is a local chapter right here in Redlands. The Pilgrims were a sturdy lot. They gave us, although unaware as they were, a memorable occasion to pause and reflect on those who have made our lives and our country so special. Let's hear it for them… hip, hip hooray! So when the family gathers around the turkey dinner, let's share stories of our ancestors and who knows, maybe one of them might even be a PILGRIM! There will be no meeting in November or December.
