20 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2016 Lodge Committee It is official! We are no longer Bistro Committee, but Lodge Committee. We are still very involved with the Bistro, but also will be prime facilitators for groups and clubs using both the Lodge and Spa buildings. We are so excited to have this added responsibility and are in the process of getting organized and meeting with all of the various clubs and groups. Janet Burns has resigned from our committee as she and her husband are moving away. We wish them well and will miss Janet. We are pleased to announce that we are one step closer toward the kitchen renovation for the Bistro, as the Facilities Committee approved our proposal on Nov. 1 and passed it on to the Financial Committee. Ann Blair and I will be presenting our proposal to the Finance Committee on Nov. 29 and next stop would be at the Board meeting in December. Saphire Rhodes from FirstService Residential, along with the representative from the company who will be doing the renovation, will accompany us to both of these meetings. The renovation of the kitchen will increase productivity and enable the Bistro staff to hire more help and open another register which will make all of us much happier customers. The Lodge Committee has several openings, as we would like to expand to a total of nine members, so if you are interested in being part of our new and exciting committee, please come to our next meeting. We meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 11 am in the old conference room located within the Bistro. I hope to see some of you there! ~ Jill Anderson Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all! When purchasing a home in a gated community with an association, we knew there would be dues and rules. Our CC&Rs and Community Guidelines govern our community. They are intended to keep residents safe and maintain a level of order and pride in our community. From time to time, a Community Guideline needs a little tweaking or we see the need to create a new rule. As an example, residents wanted to enjoy miles of trails and could not because they need to rely on a mobility scooter. A group formed and approached this committee to allow mobility scooters on the trails. A certified mobility expert reviewed all trails. He, too, relies on a mobility scooter, and determined with minor modifications, our trails were safe for all residents and the scooters would not damage the trails. Rules & Regulations modified the existing rule to include mobility scooters and a resident's guest using a mobility scooter to enjoy our trails. The proposed re-wording was sent to the Board for their approval and then on the homeowners to review and voice their opinion. Granted this process took several months, but the goal was accomplished. One of the two candidates who attended the Committee Membership Drive and submitted their applications, attended the November meeting. Thank you for your interest. If you do not understand an existing rule, approach one of our committee members; ask for the reason why the rule is in place. Or if you feel it should be modified or omitted, come to a meeting and express your concern. ~ Barbara Miller Rules & Regulations committee
