38 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2016 November was a very busy month for the ceramics class. We hosted a special "Harvest Pumpkin" project, where we taught multiple painting techniques with various mediums. We had a full class and we were glad we could accommodate all that were interested in participating. Based on the feedback from classmates and the beautiful designs created, the class was a great success! Special thanks to Marion Herron for her support to ensure a great turnout and well planned event, and also to Marion Loney for sharing her talents and leading the class on how to use acrylics, oil paintstiks and a dry brushing technique. Our participation on Wednesdays continues to grow as result of the interest generated at the Craft Fair and growth in our community. Welcome to our new classmates, we look forward to seeing the creativity you bring to the class and growing fellowship among neighbors. If you are looking for a new hobby, or want to create your own design, participate in a class project to create pieces for yourself, friends and family, come to the ceramics class. Drop by the Craft Room to see our monthly ceramics class schedule and learn more about our upcoming class projects. Come and join in the fun, we meet in the Craft Room and post a monthly schedule in the classroom for your reference. Wednesday: 1-4 pm • Alternating Saturdays: 9-1 pm (please see schedule for dates). We will be dark for Saturdays in December due to holidays. Certified instructor and/or an experienced class team lead is available to support your crafting needs, participation is at your own pace and frequency. The above photo is with the ladies that contributed their time and effort to the project and 50 of the hats that were made. The others not pictured, but who contributed, are Eileen Kershaw, Sally Peterson, Gerrie Karczynski, and Panadda Stacy. Congratulations to everybody that worked on this project. Your efforts are very much appreciated. I want to express special thanks to Janet Hession, who spearheaded this project and obtained all the supplies for us, attached all the USMC emblems, and delivered all hats to the party in charge at Camp Pendleton. We have received an invitation to attend the race in March and help out in some way. That will be a terrific experience for all. Too soon to think about next year's project, but am sure it will be fun. We would like to wish all Four Seasons residents the happiest and safest days of the holiday season. ~ Dorothy Payne The Ceramics Class (below) completed their "Harvest Pumpkin" project in November
