On Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors
presented Len Tavernetti with the 2016 Riverside County Friend of
the Veteran Award – Individual Category. This award recognizes an
individual volunteer who does outstanding work in promoting and
supporting veterans.
Len's award recognized his distinguished service as a U.S. Army
Infantry Officer, as the Service Officer of the local Military Office of
Purple Heart, for successfully establishing 26 grave markers at Hillside
Memorial Park Cemetery in Redlands for local service members
whose remains were not returned home and for maintaining the
Veterans' Memorial Lane.
