16 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | December 2016 | Social Committee Twas the Night Before Christmas… you know the story… And, Twas the month of December at Four Seasons! With the edition of the December Herald, on behalf of the Social Committee, we would like to say thank you to the many volunteers who turned out on Tue., Nov. 29, to transform our Lodge into a showplace for all of our residents and guests to enjoy who will be visiting Four Seasons through the month of December. December: One of the busiest months of the year with activities planned to keep all of us enjoying the holiday spirit, as only it can be done here at Four Seasons. Behind the scenes and pulling it all together are members of the Social Committee. On Thurs., Dec. 8, is our "first" Christmas Holiday Luncheon in our beautifully decorated ballroom. This is a day that our ladies have the opportunity to host a table and show off their most treasured Christmas decorations. Tables of 8 or 10 are still available, so join in the fun. Tickets for $22 per person went on Sale Nov. 15 and details of this event are highlighted in this issue of the Herald. Mark your calendar for Sun., Dec. 11, and plan to join the Christmas festivities in the Ballroom. Vintage Voices are in tune for their holiday concert, the golf carts are being decorated for their annual Golf Cart Parade and Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus will be visiting from their journey back to Four Seasons. This is a special photo-op for the grandchildren as well as the reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" at the feet of Mr. Hal Townend. In addition, the outdoor Christmas decoration contest will take place with the winner for each of the developments; Legends, Masters, Invitationals and Champions to be announced on Sun., Dec. 11. To enter the contest, sign up at the Lodge Front Desk. There are a few changes this year and the guidelines for this contest are available at the front desk... sign up today! And, it goes without saying, Dec. 31, our annual New Year's Eve celebration, "Putting on the Ritz." Tickets went on sale Nov. 8 and another special evening is planned to countdown to 2017. Our story ends, and on behalf of the Social Committee, we say Merry Christmas to all and to all best wishes and thank you, our faithful residents, for supporting our events during 2016 and more to come in 2017! And the beat goes on… At the Appreciation Brunch we had a "special photo op!" Did you know that the Social Committee was organized in the Spring of 2004? The first meeting was held in the garage of one of the model homes. The ladies that have served as Chair of the Social Committee from 2004 to 2016 are pictured above; Colleen Rosenberger, Ellen Walsh, Chris Pounders, Marilyn Rhyne, Linda Negrete and the current Chair, Linda Adkins. CORRECTION: The Social Committee article in the November Herald had an incorrect picture at the end of the article. The text, as follows, was correct, but the picture should have been as shown below.
